I slept really well and woke up feeling properly awesome today, so CrossFit this morning was actually fun. I also didn’t have a runny nose anymore which was an added bonus, so I didn’t have to worry about snotting all over my bar half way through a thruster. Life is good.
First Breakfast (pre-WOD) – Banana, coconut and berry smoothie with a scoop of hemp protein.
Second Breakfast (post-WOD) – I had breakfast with CrossFit coaches Jon and Naama today. We went to Leon and had egg cups, but found that one wasn’t enough so we each had a second. Then I was still hungry so I had a yoghurt pot with banana and dark chocolate chips. Massive paleo fail. Anyway, I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of my breakfast, so here’s a slightly scary picture of Naama and Jon instead.
Lunch – A quick visit to Borough market and I returned with a salad and some fresh strawberries. I had the salad with last night’s left over spicy burgers, and ate the strawberries for dessert.
Afternoon Snack – A carrot and coriander muffin – It was my last one from the batch I made the other night, I shared the rest with my colleagues at work. I love the responses I get from non-paleo followers. Of my six colleagues, four of them loved the muffins, one was indifferent and one didn’t like them at all (but he’s a bit odd anyway so it doesn’t count). What amuses me is the surprise that paleo cooking tastes nice – of course it does people, it’s “proper” food!
Dinner – Pan fried pave steak with paprika and black pepper; spicy roasted sweet potato and carrot; and stir fried broccoli, courgette, celery and onion. The cats got the left over steak tonight, I can honestly say that they were very happy!
It’s finally the weekend – yayyy!
