Paleo Friendly Eating – Borough Market

We’ve already mentioned Borough Market under Our Favourite Resources, but it deserves a bit more attention.  For those of you looking for a tasty lunch around London Bridge, it really is a fantastic place to visit.  Here’s why:

…the Total Organics juice bar does more than its name suggests and has a very awesome salad bar.  Here you can get fantastic stuff like beetroot and apple, roasted vegetables, sweet potato and the usual mixed salad leaves, tomatoes, etc.  You can also rest assured knowing that all their fruit and veg is organic.

…there are a couple of great stalls selling hot cooked meats, specifically Wyndham House Poultry and Northfield Kitchen.  These are usually sold in wraps or burger buns, but they are happy to give it to you slightly cheaper without the bread.  I have had some awesome burgers and chicken from both places.

…I haven’t eaten there yet, but there is also a stall that sells cooked (and uncooked) exotic meats like Ostrich, Kangaroo and Zebra.  It all looks pretty tasty, so go give them a try!

…for those of you that are happy to eat dairy and are looking for raw milk, there is a stall selling raw unpasteurised milk (and milk products).  They also have some great looking dairy smoothies.

…for a little chocolate treat, pop into Rabot Estate, they sell up to 100% cocoa content dark chocolate.  Yum!

A word of warning – it can get a little busy.  I don’t usually enjoy crowded places, I would generally rather stab myself in the eye with a fork.  But the food here is worth having your toes stepped on by a few strangers so don’t let that put you off.
