Carrot and Swede Mash

I have a new blender!  That has absolutely nothing to do with carrots or swede but I’m quite excited so thought I’d share it with you.  It works really well but unfortunately it’s the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.  Oh well.

Back to sensible stuff – this mash is so easy to make and is awesome served with steak or roasts.

What you need:
1 average sized swede
4-6 carrots
olive oil
1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
freshly ground black pepper

How to make it:
Peel the swede and cut into cubes.
Peel the carrots and chop them so they are a similar size to the cubes of swede.
Place in a large saucepan of boiling water, and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until soft.
Drain in a colander, then mash with a fork or potato masher.
Add a splash of olive oil, and the nutmeg and black pepper, and mix well.
Serve up and enjoy!

As I don’t have another mash picture, here’s a picture of one of my cats for you to look at instead.  I know how much you all loved the last cat picture.  And no, it’s not the same cat, they look similar because they’re sisters.
