Spicy Beef Burgers

This is another paleofied recipe from The Complete Mince Cookbook by Bridget Jones.  It’s one of my favourites!

500g beef mince
1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
1 or 2 garlic cloves crushed
1 tbsp ground coriander
1 tsp marjoram
½ tsp thyme
25g ground almonds
1tbsp olive oil
1 egg, lightly beaten
freshly squeezed lemon juice from half a lemon
salt and freshly ground black pepper

How to make them:
Preheat your grill on a medium to high setting (these are also very awesome on the barbecue!).
Put all the ingredients except the mince into a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
Then add the mince and mix well making sure that the herbs and seasoning are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
Shape into 8-10 burgers.
Grill under a medium to high grill for about 15 minutes, you will need to turn them over at least once.

Today I served these with sweet potato chips and simple roasted vegetables, but they are just as good with a nice salad.  They are also great topped with things like avocado and mushroom.
