I don’t have a smoothie maker and just use an ordinary blender, so my smoothies tend to be more lumpy than anything else. I still love them though and they are perfect as a quick and light breakfast on my way to CrossFit in the morning. The Hemp gives the smoothie a bit of a protein boost. You could use any protein powder of your choice, I love Linwoods organic shelled hemp as it tastes awesome, although it does have less protein and more fat than many others out there.
Here’s what you need:
Handful of fresh blackberries (you could use any berries for this, I’ve also used frozen berries and they work well too).
15g creamed coconut, or 50ml of coconut milk
30g shelled organic hemp (or other protein powder)
A cup of ice cold water
Throw everything into your blender or smoothie maker and whizz until smooth(ish).
